So we finally went on a real family vacation. On Thursday, 10/15, We drove from Lubbock to Albuquerque the first day, John wanted to see the Atomic Museum so we did that. The next day we drove on to Flagstaff, AZ, and met up with my sister and her fiance'. We had lunch at a burger joint, named Bun Huggers, ha, ha! The hotel we stayed at had free cocktails that evening, that was fun! Connor had to sleep in the pack and play, which he is not used to, so we put a blanket over the pack and play, like a bird cage, it worked out pretty well! On Saturday, we drove to the Grand Canyon, where my sister Nichole and my new brother-in-law Brian got married!! Yay. After the ceremony, we changed our clothes and did a little sight seeing! On Sunday, everybody, Nichole and Brian, and all of his family, left to go home, but John, Connor and I headed to Vegas! We headed to Las Vegas via the Hoover Dam. I am married to an engineer, so we had to take the power plant tour! We walked around the dam for a while and the headed on to Vegas! We got there about 5 PM, I think? We checked in to our hotel, and then got some In N Out Burger for dinner, it is soooo good! I wish there was on in Lubbock! After dinner we changed Connor in to his PJs and put him in the stroller to sight see! We walked along the strip for a long while, saw the fountains at the Bellagio, and tried to see the pirate show at Treasure Island, but it was cancelled due to high winds. John figured it out and we walked over three miles that night! Ouch, my hip was on fire! I can't tell you how many compliments Connor got while we were in Vegas!! The next day we went to see more sights, we saw about everything free there was to see in Vegas! In the evenings after Connor was asleep, we would go gambling! One at a time since there was no child care! It was so much fun!!! I think I am in love with slot machines, so fun! So on Wednesday the 21st, we left Las Vegas, and headed back to Albuquerque, that was the longest drive, it sucked! Connor was very good in the car for 10+ hours! We stayed at La Quinta that night, what a mistake, the first room the toilet overflowed, so we had to move to the room next door, which was a smoking room, yuck! I hate Albuquerque!!! It is a shitty town. We left for Lubbock as soon as we could! I have never been so happy to be home!! Picture will be uploaded as soon as I get them on this computer!
My sweet Connor and his beautiful cousin Clare! They were born 5 days apart, Clare on 11/30 and Connor on 12/5! They are eating their birthday cupcakes. After Clare finished her cupcake, she reached down to finish Connor's!
